China builds new military facilities on South China Sea islands: think tank

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - China has built new military facilities on islands in the South China Sea, a U.S. think tank reported on Thursday, a move that could raise tensions with Washington, which has accused Beijing of militarizing the vital waterway.
The Asia Maritime Transparency Initiative (AMTI), part of Washington's Center for Strategic and International Studies, said new satellite images show missile shelters and radar and communications facilities being built on the Fiery Cross, Mischief and Subi Reefs in the Spratly Islands.
The United States has criticized China's build-up of military facilities on the artificial islands and is concerned they could be used to restrict free movement through the South China Sea, an important trade route.
Last month, a U.S. Navy warship sailed within 12 nautical miles of Mischief Reef in a so-called freedom of navigation operation, the first such challenge to Beijing's claim to most of the waterway since U.S. President Donald Trump took office.
China has denied U.S. charges that it is militarizing the sea, which also is claimed by Brunei, Malaysia, the Philippines, Taiwan and Vietnam.
Trump has sought China's help in reining in North Korea's nuclear and missile programs, and tension between Washington and Beijing over military installations in the South China Sea could complicate those efforts.
China has built four new missile shelters on Fiery Cross Reef to go with the eight already on the artificial island, AMTI said. Mischief and Subi each have eight shelters, the think tank said in a previous report.
In February, Reuters reported that China had nearly finished building structures to house long-range surface-to-air missiles on the three islands.
On Mischief Reef, a very large antennae array is being installed that presumably boosts Beijing's ability to monitor the surroundings, the think tank said, adding that the installation should be of concern to the Philippines due to its proximity to an area claimed by Manila.
A large dome recently was installed on Fiery Cross and another is under construction, indicating a sizeable communications or radar system, AMTI said. Two more domes are being built at Mischief Reef, it said.
A smaller dome has been installed near the missile shelters on Mischief, "indicating that it could be connected to radars for any missile systems that might be housed there," AMTI said.
"Beijing can now deploy military assets, including combat aircraft and mobile missile launchers, to the Spratly Islands at any time," it said.

What is Spirit Science About?
Spirit Science is about the harmonic merging of ideas that previously we have believed did not fit together. Things such as “Spirit” and “Science”, taking out all of the dogma and limitations that come with these, and unifying them together as One.
It is the blending of Male and Female energies. The natural blending of our mathematical, logical understanding, and the emotional, magical, and spiritual way of life that have been separate for far too long.
It is time for the Two to become One, once more.
We are living in exceptional times. The world around us is beginning its descent into madness. While Riots and Protests have been sweeping across the nations of the world, there are many a movements starting to take place that speaks to a different truth, ands a new way of life.
It’s the idea that we are all connected. The idea that through love, anything is possible. That you are a Creator, and through our awareness of the world around us, we can create a massive change in the way that we do things.
In fact, it is our responsibility to use the gifts we have been given to create a transformation in this world.
It is up to us. Nobody else can do it, and we cannot wait for anyone else to make a difference in the world. All it takes for Evil to triumph, is if Good People do nothing.
So how do we get started? What does it look like? Many of us are still searching for answers to those questions. What I’ve learned is the power in connection, the power in coming together with those of like heart, and mind, who share in the desire to make a difference, and the will to see to it that it happens.
bhaktiblissSeek out your brothers and sisters. Your fathers, mothers, sons and daughters in Spirit. Very simply, it’s those people who you connect with on a real level. An honest level, a level of awareness and intimacy beyond the social constructs we’ve put in place which limit communication.
It is through these connections that we begin to really make a difference in the way that we do things, we begin to develop support structures for each other, and can do things together on a larger scale than we could have individually.
As the old way collapses, we are all collectively creating the next “thing”. What will that look like?
Will We continue to fight each other, and fight against the old system, barricading ourselves with walls of separation?
Or will we move into a state of shared awareness with each other, a state of unity. A space of understanding that we are all One, and move into harmony with the natural environment all around us…?
I suppose that decision is up to you.

Dear Jordan Pearce
While I direct this letter to you it is really intended to inform the entire team how much peace I find in your teams ability to captivate your audience by simply stating the obvious. I only mention this because I actually put my daughter to sleep each evening to the Spirit Science Series, which she also loves.
That being said, I have a serious question for your entire team, how do you do it? I mean the stories are captivating, educational and yet peacefully entertaining all while getting your message out? I find it amazing and I guess I am seeking some advice on How you guys, and women, do it!?
In the month of October 2014, I founded The Make a Difference Foundation of Puerto Rico, a 501(c)3 nonprofit, initially to help feed children that saw begging for spare change, if there is such a thing, at traffic lights. I noticed that most of the drivers just looked the other way, so I started bagging up individual P n J sandwiches with a bottle of water to give to the kids.
The next day I did the same thing then again and again, until I noticed one day that there was a line of not only children but adults with children that appeared to be homeless waiting for me. Needles to say, I just didn’t have enough to go around and the cars behind me were all honking their horns and yelling at me to move.
Anyway to make along story short, HOW DOES YOUR TEAM DO IT? You see since I started, I now feed as many children and adults as I can three times a day and I even offer those who are interested a safe place to sleep, it’s not easy but, I was once an orphan and remember many a hungry night. Now at 65 I am retired and my social security helps support our foundation along with my daughter, we have come to know many of the people going on three years now.
Most of the families are victims of evictions or homes repossessed living about 50% below the national poverty level. In the three years our website has received a donation of $25, and I think that was from the IRS just to verify the foundations tax returns of zero income were true!
I have learned a lot from your series and even though I do not speak Spanish I can see the appreciation in their eyes as we hand them a plate of food in the morning and at the end of each day.
So, for that I thank your entire team who inspired me to take on such a monumental yet gratifying task. The get mad PR was an attempt to inspire others to take action and help these less fortunate families and individuals.
P.S. This is not a request for money and my daughter feeds the homeless animals, because one day she notice a man feeding his dog from his plate. She especially enjoys feeding the Iguana’s?
